US Presence in Afghanistan to be Re-Labeled as Counter Terrorism

“War never changes.” — some fallout dude

While rumors abound about a troop withdrawal, statements made by identified Republicans and Democrats telegraph a continued troop presence in Afghanistan.

Mitch McConnell and Joe Biden made statements warning that a troop withdrawal would be bad. Going further, Biden said that they would stay, but be called a counter terrorism force.

The War in Afghanistan has been going on since October 2001.

These publicly verifiable statements about troops remaining in Afghanistan are contradicted by “US Officials” who requested to remain anonymous.

McConnell is also on about Trump being right about the Covid vaccine timeline.

The US does have an agreement to lower toop levels next year, but part of it basically says “unless we don’t want too”.

Remember that Korean Covid Death Cult?

not like they think this is the rapture or anything.

Singapore just arrested 21 people who they say are part of this “Unlawful Society”. They could be imprisoned for 3 years for this.

This religious organization has got a bit of a bad rap in Korea, probably because of Covid paranoia and that they are accused of praying close to each other.

Near the beginning of the pandemic, they were criticized for traveling all around the world while people claim they knew they were infected.

The group’s name is Shincheonji Church of Jesus and they’re basically just christians.

Meanwhile, American christians arn’t being strange at all.

Almost 19% of South Korea’s Covid cases are linked to SCJ.

First Nuclear Power in Belarus

You might only know of Minsk, but the Brest city is Pinsk.

Advertisements

This landlocked country just started operating a nuclear power plant for the first time earlier this week.

The facility is expected to create 2.2 Gigawatts of electricity which is less than 1% of the country’s total electricity production. They have a net export of about 1 Terawatt.

Belarus was once part of Lithuania.

Modern day Lithuania doesn’t like that the plant has been built, partly because it’s pretty close to their capital city.

The EU doesn’t like what Lukashenko did in his recent election.

Lithuania used to have an old Soviet nuclear plant, but closed it in 2009

Trump announces the action.

Kidnapping for ransom has been on the rise in West Africa in general.

After working with local officials, Seal Team 6 and others from a joint operations force killed 6 out of the 7 captors.

The US Citizen was variously described as a Missionary or a Farmer.

No US Military were harmed.

US Sells Iranian Oil

Look at me; I am the captain now.

The US announced that it has sold the 1.1 million barrels of oil which it took from Iran. The Iranians wanted it to go to Venezuela.

This is the oil that they took by capturing oil tankers back in August.

US Privateering action only cost the English around 300 million dollars in the Revolutionary War.

Surely, this was a profitable operation as this was about 40 million dollars of oil at the current market rate.

The America’s cup sailing competition might still happen, just with public safety considerations.

Some estimates say that these sorts of actions have costed Venezuela billions of dollars.

Germany to do More Lockdown

WHO says you shouldn’t do that?

Advertisements

In what they are calling “Lockdown Light”, Germany is going on with its authoritarian pandemic response, puritanically targeting bars and restaurants despite contradicting evidence.

The World Health Organization says that there are significant negative outcomes associated with implementing lockdowns while at the same time kinda trying to say they don’t say that.

France, Spain, and Italy are doing much the same as Germany.

While announcing the new measures, Merkel, who has been Chancellor since 2005, said the issue would be burdensome.

Oktoberfest was canceled this year for the virus.

This time, the lockdown is supposed to last for four weeks.

Egyptian Fear over Ethiopian Dam Highlighted by Trumpian Trump Remark

Just as a certain something rolls down hill, water flows down river.

Advertisements

In his typical style, Trump expressed concern about what Egypt might do over concerns about the impact of filling and operating a dam in Ethiopia.

President Trump speaks to Sudan on the phone. | The National

Egypt has been concerned about the impact of this dam since the project began to be planed in the 50’s.

Conflict over dams on this part of the Nile are nothing new. Several dams were built in Sudan in the 60’s and 70’s.

There are some who claim that the negative effects of filling and operating the dam could be largely mitigated, but this would likely mean three whole sovereign nations working together.

Egyptian GM Bassem Amin recently won a game of chess.

Ethiopia has expressed concern that Trump would say something like that.
